Our Story

BSTP offers a comprehensive range of Town Planning services designed to facilitate a streamlined and stress-free development process for our clients. Our skilled team comprises both permanent and contract-based professionals, all of whom are qualified and experienced in the technical aspects of the planning industry.

Established in 2023, the company is led by Ms Jacolene Swart, who holds a degree in Architecture as well as Honours and Master’s degrees in Town Planning from the University of the Free State. She further enhanced her expertise by completing a Project Management course at the University of Cape Town.

Ms Swart began her professional journey as a Town Planner at Cape Agulhas Municipality, where she gained invaluable experience in the public sector. She later joined the accomplished team at Andrew Pratt Town Planners in the private sector before founding her own firm, where she now leads with dedication and industry insight.

At BSTP, we maintain meticulous attention to detail and are dedicated to providing our clients with the highest possible standard of service.

Jacolene Swart

Director and Founder

Meet Ms Jacolene Swart, Director and Founder, with extensive experience across both the public and private sectors. Holding qualifications in Architecture, Town Planning, and Project Management, she offers a detailed and well-rounded understanding of the multifaceted nature of the industry. Her passion lies in creating vibrant, responsive, and identity-specific places as she strives to deliver innovative and desirable planning solutions.

Jacolene is also a cat lover, bookworm and self-proclaimed foodie.

Clotilda Garatsa

Project Administrator

Meet Ms Clotilda Garatsa. With a qualification in Public Administration and extensive experience in land use processes, she brings a high level of expertise and reliability to every project. Ms Garatsa is a proactive and detail-oriented professional, known for her strong project management skills and commitment to excellence throughout all phases of the process.

Clotilda also enjoys reading in her free time and spending time with family.

Pieter-Jan Rossouw

Junior Town Planner

Meet Mr Pieter-Jan (PJ) Rossouw. Being qualified in Town Planning, he is a dynamic young professional with a passion for creating sustainable, well-structured communities. With a proactive and solutions-driven approach, he is committed to guiding your project through every stage of the land use process, from inception to completion.

Pieter-Jan also enjoys travelling, spending quality time with friends and family and staying active.
